Q: What sort of facility do you have? A: We can accommodate most bands, drums and etc. We operate in a space about 1000 square feet. We have a lovely recording room, control room with room for relaxing artists. The best way to know what it’s like is to set up a visit. Q: You said bands and mentioned drums, do you only record bands? A: No, Not at all. In fact we record any genre of music and even music that just refuses to have a genre. Visit our Artists page to see some of the artists we’ve recorded here. Q: What do you mean “no hourly rate?” A: We mean no hourly rate. When possible we schedule full days- if necessary consecutively. In other words, we (with your input) estimate how long your project will take and schedule you that much time. The time has almost no relation to the project cost. You are working during recording, we just run the equipment. The bulk of our work comes afterwards during editing. Q: How much do you charge, then? A: It depends on the size and length of the project and the # of tracks. Most often it'll be $50 per track (aka song). That would include a copy for each musician and our preliminary processing. Be assured, though, we will beat our competitors on a quality to price ratio. And if you really really want an hourly rate we can probably negotiate one with you. Q: What’s included? A: Recording, pre-master (cleanup,) copies for each musician and usually mastering, depending on the processing demands of you and your music/genre. Graphic design is also available with any Full Album order. In addition, you will receive a master copy on disc of everything you’ve done. Q: What sort of recording device do you use? A: Normally we record directly to the studio computer via an M-audio 8 channel sound card. For larger groups we have a 24 track Mackie hard disc recorder, which we track to the computer for processing and arrangement. For more details visit our equipment page Q: I’m a-scared of digital recording, what do I do? A: We can prove to you personally that our equipment will record you accurately, and you will not sound like Max Headrom unless you want to. Otherwise we recommend becoming rich; because that’s the only way you’ll afford tape. When you figure out the easy way to do that, let us know and get a FREE T-SHIRT!! Q: Can I pick which devices to use? A: Of course, just give notice for setup purposes. Other options are available upon request. Q: How soon can I record? A: After our initial meeting when you sign the policies and discuss your project, we will set up a recording time as soon as we receive your deposit. The deposit will never be more than $100. It is refundable in the event that you NEVER RECORD. If you have actually used our facility, then it is nonrefundable. Q: Can I supervise individual aspects of my project? A: Yes. Complete control is yours. If there is any part of the process you’d like to be present for, such as mastering, just ask and we will set up a time with you. Just remember some parts of the process, for instance mastering and beat making, take TIME PATIENCE AND CONCENTRATION. |
